Job Description

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of guidelines and policies related to sustainable investments.
  • Participate in engagements with investee companies to encourage the adoption and progress of sustainable practices.
  • Be responsible for the interpretation of the Shareholder’s Expectations and Investment Stewardship policy, which includes Khazanah’s Voting Guidelines, as well as its ongoing maintenance and updating. This includes consolidating and reporting on Khazanah’s total voting activity to the relevant internal committees.
  • Participate in reviews, surveys, assessments, disclosures with internal and external parties, and various industry efforts in advocating for Khazanah’s sustainability position. This includes stakeholder materiality assessments and various interactions with other institutions and regulators.
  • Primary implementor of the Andromeda programme by carrying out tasks including the shareholder driven Board and Management Effectiveness Assessments (including numerical analysis). Ideal candidates are expected to share ideas on how to improve overall board effectiveness based on these assessments.
  • Maintenance of the Andromeda pool and database, and curate and carry out programmes to raise the competencies of Khazanah’s internal Nominee Directors.
  • Support the functioning of the Board Effectiveness Council.
  • Support the expectations and responsibilities placed on the Stewardship team as a function within the CIO office.
  • Serve as point person on regulatory matters and listing requirements.
  • Periodic research on topics such as stewardship practices at peer groups, assessment methods for leadership, etc.

Job Requirements

  • A significant amount of drafting and document reviews will be involved, hence a strong command of English is necessary.
  • Understanding of basic financial principles.
  • Ability to work in an environment with colleagues of varying backgrounds, and collaboratively build effective working relationships. 
  • Able to present and carry themselves professionally during stakeholder presentations and discussions.
  • Project management experience optional

Education/Certifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and/or Master’s Degree.
