Job Description

  • Support engagements with investee companies aimed at encouraging the adoption and progress of sustainable practices.
  • Support the execution of sustainability specific special projects (e.g., Net Zero Pathway, Climate Adaptation & Resilience, etc).
  • Assist in identification of pre-investments sustainability risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on post-investments for sustainability risks and engagement.
  • Conduct research on thematic ESG issues and megatrends impacting investment decisions and portfolio management to support investment proposal and company performance reviews, policy setting, and external advocacy
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on guidelines and practices regarding reporting requirements, applicable policies, and procedures as applicable to investee companies as well as portfolio management.
  • Participate in reviews, surveys, assessments, disclosures with internal and external parties, and various industry efforts in advocating for Khazanah’s sustainability position. This includes stakeholder materiality assessments and various interactions with other institutions and regulators. 
  • Utilise and update emissions data on the GHG Platform to generate reports and other relevant outputs for monitoring and onward planning. 
  • Support the organizational change management and education process with respect to Sustainability/ ESG.
  • Support the expectations and responsibilities placed on the Sustainability team as a function within the CIO office.
  • Carry out numerical analysis on sustainability topics such as ESG ratings, impact metrics, climate value at risk, etc. 
  • Hands-on planning and involvement in carrying out sustainability, stewardship, monitoring, and related events as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • A strong background in financial and investments is required, including an undergraduate degree in a relevant field.  
  • More advanced qualifications (e.g. CFA) would be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in due diligence, company engagement, and performance measurement from a financial services/investment management/consulting background is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge and understanding of ESG-related issues, data analytics and compliance and risk management. 

Education/Certifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and/or Master’s Degree.
