Job Purpose

Manage the assets under the Airlines investment portfolio in Khazanah’s Strategic Fund, to achieve the strategic objectives for the assets and aligned with the Fund’s objective of delivering long-term economic benefits for the nation. This role reports to the Head -  Infrastructure & Airlines, and will also involve close interactions with the Chief Investment Officer. 

Job Description

  • Oversee the BAU management and monitoring (“M&M”) of Khazanah investments under the Airlines Portfolio, which may include close oversight of the investee companies’ financial performance, business plans and talent / leadership related matters (from a majority shareholder’s perspectives), management of aircraft leasing and divestment activities, etc. 
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the investment strategies / value creation plans for the Khazanah investments under the Airlines Portfolio, which may include restructuring of businesses, securing strategic partnerships and divestments of assets. This will also entail overseeing any related due diligence, financial modelling, legal matters and leading relevant negotiations. 
  • Oversee the preparation of periodical management reports and relevant approval papers. 
  • Act as the key liaison with the senior management in the investee company(ies), representative of Khazanah (or to support your Line Manager) in engagement with the government and any other industry stakeholders. 
  • Supervise the junior team members under the Airlines Team, including on-the-job coaching and providing guidance on their individual career development plans. 
  • Any other duties or roles as assigned by your Line Manager or the Chief Investment Officer.

Job Requirements

  • 12 years  relevant experience, with 3 years experience in a senior management/ leadership role
  • Preferred industry exposure in Investment Banking, Asset Management, Corporate Finance, Business Management and Strategy 

Skill and Knowledge:

  • Strong stakeholder management with government representatives, policy makers, investors and investee companies to influence desired outcomes
  • Ability to network and build effective relationships with members of financial institutions
  • Ability to execute strategic plans effectively 
  • Ability to lead, inspire confidence and keep the team focused on its priorities  
  • Knowledge of the industries where assets are in


Minimum Degree In Finance/ Management
